About Me

3 Tara Chivukula 12.20.25.jpg

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Supervisor (LCSW-S), Certified Psychoanalyst and Certified Imago Couples Therapist. I work with individuals and couples in Austin, Texas and New York City.

As a seasoned psychoanalyst, I've worked for many years in community mental health prior to entering private practice. This experience continues to shape how I think about care and access to mental health services.

A graduate of the Columbia University School of Social Work and the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis (MIP) my work is grounded primarily in contemporary relational psychoanalysis.

Alongside my clinical work, I teach and supervise in psychoanalytic training programs, including the One-Year Certificate Program in Psychoanalysis & the Sociopolitical World at MIP, the Trauma Training Program at MIP and the Fellowship Program at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis (ICP & P).  Finally, I am a mentor to early-career clinicians through the Austin Psychoanalytic mentoring program.
